CHAPTER 6
THE WHOLE EQUATION
REPENTANCE
IF...
The invitation has always been to
Turn FROM sin
Back TO The Law of God.
This is called Repentance.
Granting us The Gift of Repentance demonstrates God’s Grace/Kindness/Love.
Blessings are attached to Sincere Repentance:
Peace IF...
Prosperity IF...
Posterity IF...
Protection IF...
Promised Land IF...
IF we Repent.
Q:
What is Repentance, Scripturally?
A:
As always, we must consider The Hebrew Context:
shub: to turn back, return
Original Word: שׁוּב
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: shub
Phonetic Spelling: (shoob)
Definition: to turn back, return
The Hebrew word for “Repent” is
“Shub” pronounced “shoob”.
This means to “Turn back” or “Shub”
from one way, and go the opposite way.
So to “Repent” from moving left,
is to move right.
To “Repent” from moving down,
is to move up.
To “Repent” from moving backward,
is to move forward.
To “Repent” is not only to
STOP practicing sin,
but also to
START practicing righteousness.
Repentance is even more specific scripturally than many understand it to be, as it is always connected to sin:
Mark 1
4 John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a
BAPTISM OF REPENTANCE FOR
THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
5 And all the country of Judea and all Jerusalem were going out to him and were being
—>BAPTIZED BY HIM
in the river Jordan,
—>ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR SINS.
Luke 3
3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a
BAPTISM OF REPENTANCE FOR
THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
NOTE:
Sins can be Forgiven in
Mark 1:4, and
Luke 3:3 and
should be Acknowledged in
Mark 1:5.
Luke 5
32 I have not come to call the righteous but SINNERS TO REPENTANCE.
NOTE:
Sinners must Repent according to
Luke 5:32.
Romans 3
23 for ALL HAVE SINNED
and fall short of the glory of God
NOTE:
If Sinners are called to Repent in
Luke 5:32, and
ALL have Sinned in
Romans 3:23, then
ALL have been called to Repent.
Acts 3
19 REPENT therefore, and
TURN BACK, that
your SINS may be BLOTTED OUT
Q:
Then what do we “TURN BACK” to?
A:
2 Corinthians 7
10 For godly grief produces a
REPENTANCE THAT
LEADS TO SALVATION
without regret,
whereas worldly grief produces death.
A:
We Repent Back to,
or Turn Back to
Salvation (Yeshua, Jesus)
_____________________
Q:
As one cannot know Salvation without Repenting from Sin, then what is “Sin”?
A:
1 John 3
4 Everyone who makes a
PRACTICE OF SINNING
ALSO PRACTICES LAWLESSNESS;
—>SIN IS LAWLESSNESS.
A:
Sin is Lawlessness in
1 John 3:4.
Q:
Which Law?
A:
Jeremiah 31
33 For this is
—>THE COVENANT
that I will make with The House of Israel after those days, declares YeHoVaH:
I will put
—>MY LAW within them, and
—>I WILL WRITE IT
on their HEARTS.
And I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
A:
THE COVENANT is
THE LAW to which we
REPENT/TURN BACK.
Q:
Then which Covenanted Law is
the only Covenanted Law
written by God Himself?
Exodus 31
18 And He gave to Moses,
when he had finished speaking with him
on Mount Sinai,
THE TWO TABLETS OF
—>THE TESTIMONY,
TABLETS OF STONE,
—>WRITTEN WITH
THE FINGER OF GOD.
Deuteronomy 4
13 And He declared to you
—>HIS COVENANT,
which He commanded you to perform, that is,
—>THE TEN COMMANDMENTS,
—>AND HE WROTE THEM ON
TWO TABLETS OF STONE.
A:
THE 10 COMMANDMENTS are
The only Covenanted Law
Written by God Himself.
Therefore,
Godly Grief produces Repentance,
Repentance is Turning FROM sin,
Sin is Lawlessness.
Repentance is
Turning FROM Sin/Lawlessness,
Repentance is
Turning BACK TO God’s Law
GOD’S ETERNAL LAW is
HIS ETERNAL COVENANT, which is
HIS ETERNAL TESTIMONY, which is
HIS ETERNAL 10 COMMANDMENTS.
THIS is how Repentance specifically leads to Salvation.
HEBREW NOTE:
The Hebrew word for
“Salvation”
is
“Yeshua”.
Yeshua is the given Name for The Messiah, many call Him Jesus.
Truly I say,
IF we keep God’s 10 Commandments,
then His promises surely follow:
Peace
Prosperity
Posterity
Protection
Promised Land
Shalom (Peace)
